Kitchen Tip Tuesday - Soft Skin Veggie Peeler

I have been reading Tammy's blog for some time now. I finally have a tip to share!

This vegetable peeler is one of my favorites! It is a Zyliss soft-skin peeler, which means it works on tomatoes! It also works on peaches and other soft-skinned fruits and veggies. Instead of having smooth blades, like a normal peeler, these blades have tiny little teeth that gently grab the peel of the tomato. It is quick and easy and doesn't damage the deliciousness inside. Using this, I also only get tomato peeling. In the past, my peeled tomatoes haven't looked so pretty - they normally have huge chunks taken out of them because they are very difficult to peel unless you have an extremely sharp knife. I never seem to have very sharp knives. This is certainly one of those small kitchen gadgets that makes my life easier.

I don't think I've ever seen this before. You find the neatest stuff! I'll have to try this because as the season is winding down, our tomatoes are getting smaller and smaller and harder to peel!
Thanks for the great tip!

Just wanted to let y'all know - I bought that peeler on Orchid Island in Vero Beach at this wonderful kitchen store they have. But... I have seen this peeler at my local Publix. They carry a bunch of the Zyliss products.

That peeler looks neat.

I really need something like that after all the canning I've been doing with my tomatoes.

I came to your blog off of Jennifers.
I've seen you around blog land. So thought I would pop over and say hi.
